Basics

Also known as finger cymbals or sagat.

 

Small cymbals (aprox. 2in in diameter) worn on the hands and commonly played while dancing.

 

How to Play

Dancers wear two pair of zills, one pair on each hand. The cymbals are worn on the thumb and middle finger and played by striking the cymbals together.

 

Zill Practice Techniques

 

  • Practice while moving your arms to different positions relative to your ears.
  • Practice while walking and work up to practicing while dancing.
